Elizabeth R. Withington, American, 1880–1962

Elizabeth R. Withington was an active member of the Rockport Art Association beginning in 1923. In addition to creating vibrant impressionist paintings and works on paper she was an important illustrator. She illustrated numerous books of the early 20th century including Anne of Green Gables which was published in 1908.
